Regenerative Medicine Treatments in California
R3 Stem Cell California offers four minimally invasive, outpatient procedures designed to support your body’s own repair process, without surgery or steroids. Providers across Northern and Southern California. Your first consultation is always FREE.
How We Approach Treatment
At R3 Stem Cell California, every treatment decision starts with an honest conversation. Before recommending any procedure, your provider reviews your health history, your goals, and whether a regenerative approach makes sense for your situation. There is no pressure, no one-size-fits-all protocol, and no hidden fees.
Our procedures draw on your body’s own biology, using cells, growth factors, and platelets that your body already produces, and place them precisely where tissue repair is needed. All treatments are nonsteroidal, outpatient, and done at our California provider locations in a single office visit.
With over 29,000 regenerative procedures performed globally under the R3 Stem Cell California network, and clinical research listed on ClinicalTrials.gov, our providers bring a depth of real-world experience that few practices in California can match. Founded by David Greene, MD, PhD, MBA, R3 Stem Cell California is built on the principle that patients deserve both advanced care and complete honesty about what that care can and cannot do.
Note on experimental status: Stem cell procedures for joint and orthopedic conditions are considered investigational and are not FDA-approved. PRP is cleared as a device but is also not FDA-approved for specific indications. We tell you this upfront because informed patients make better decisions.
Our Regenerative Procedures
Amniotic Stem Cell Therapy
Amniotic-derived treatments use processed tissue from donated amniotic membranes, obtained ethically from consenting donors during planned cesarean deliveries. These products contain growth factors, cytokines, and hyaluronic acid that may support the body’s natural repair environment. Unlike the other procedures on this page, this option does not use material from the patient’s own body. It is still minimally invasive and outpatient. Your provider will discuss whether this option is appropriate during your consultation.
Exosome Therapy
Exosome therapy uses cell-free vesicles, usually derived from donated umbilical cord tissue, that carry the growth factors and signaling proteins responsible for reducing inflammation and guiding repair. A concentrated exosome solution is injected directly into the affected joint or soft tissue, with no living donor cells involved. This option is often discussed for patients seeking a non-surgical add-on to PRP or stem cell protocols. Your provider will confirm suitability during your consultation.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
PRP therapy concentrates the healing growth factors already found in your own blood and delivers them to a targeted area, often with ultrasound guidance for accuracy. A small blood sample is drawn, processed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets, and then injected at the treatment site. The entire visit typically takes about an hour. PRP is the most commonly performed regenerative procedure at R3 Stem Cell California and is often a first-step option for joint pain, tendon issues, and soft tissue concerns.
Umbilical Cord Stem Cell Therapy
Umbilical cord-derived treatments use processed tissue from donated cord and Wharton’s jelly, obtained ethically from consenting mothers during planned cesarean deliveries. This tissue is a concentrated source of mesenchymal stem cells, growth factors, and hyaluronic acid that may support the body’s natural repair environment. Like amniotic therapy, this option does not use material from the patient’s own body. Your provider will discuss whether it is appropriate during your consultation.
What Every R3 Stem Cell California Procedure Shares
Autologous or ethically sourced, three of our four procedures use material from your own body. Amniotic therapy uses ethically donated tissue.
Outpatient and minimally invasive, no hospital stay, no general anesthesia, no surgical incisions. Most patients are in and out within an hour.
Nonsteroidal, none of our procedures involve corticosteroids, which can degrade tissue with repeated use.
Ultrasound-guided placement, when appropriate, providers use imaging guidance to ensure accurate delivery to the treatment site.
Informed consent before anything else, you receive a clear explanation of benefits, risks, and alternatives before any procedure is scheduled.
Not Sure Which Procedure Is Right for You?
That is exactly what the free consultation is for. Your provider will review your condition, answer your questions, and give you an honest recommendation, with no obligation to proceed.
